Sketch artist

This is another little something that is pinned to my cork board at work.  :)
It is a little sketch one of my friends doodled one day while she was visiting me at the office, and it is pinned right beside the Spongebob chocolate candy wrappers from a birthday gift she had given me.  :)

Gum anyone?

Probably the most generic bubblegum wrapper I've ever seen.

Lollipop motivation

(Click to see the photo full-size.)

This is a paraphrased quote from the Rocky Balboa movie, shared with me by a friend. While it may be a paraphrase of the movie quote, it is verbatim what my friend said -- except that I added the exclamation point at the end.  :)  The message both made me smile and made me think -- gave me even more perspective, I suppose you could say. All things considered, I really am doing alright, but I still appreciate things like this that I can keep in mind to help me through rough times.

I jotted the message down by hand and have it standing against my computer monitor at work, so it can serve as a daily reminder and motivation for me ... keep it fresh in my mind. I've taken a lot during the course of my little lifetime, as have so many others, but I'm still here and still going; "life goes on." So I know this, too, shall pass, and I'll once again keep on going, as I always have.  I'll always "still keep going."

The first sentence of the quote does always make me smile.  :)  I can imagine the oh-so-tough Rocky saying "lollipops."  Personally, I think whoever wrote the screenplay or script for the movie should have replaced "rainbows" with "lollipops."  I like this quote better than theirs.  :)

Meeting conflicts

In looking at my work calendar last week, I noticed two meetings that interfere with more joyous occasions. Why do meetings want to take place on people's birthdays?  How dare they!

Driving

Deadline day

This is an example of my busy Wednesdays.  :)  This is a checklist of items I had to do yesterday, and I started this list after I had already gotten two other articles completed that morning. All in a day's work...

Life goes on...

Gotta' love my calendar.  :)  This is one I got for Christmas that now hangs in my office, and I do love this photo that kicks off the year of Auburn football photos:

Fog starting to roll in this evening out here in the boonies...  :)  It's foggier now, but this is what I saw when I got to the house after work.

Keys to success?

I spend so much of my day in front of this .... looking at it and tapping my fingers on it quite a bit. So it seemed only right that it receive a moment of recognition..... It's amazing how much time is spent at these things every day.

Moonbeams

Today was a rainy day, followed by more rain this evening which resulted in lots of fog. When I got back to my house, I noticed the moon shining through the clouds, a ring around it indicating more rain is on the way. I love the way the moon looks at those times.... bright enough to allow someone to see the outlines of the many clouds around it, easing by in the sky, the moon shining through in one small clear circle as the clouds pass by. To me it's a beautiful, peaceful, serene sight. Of course, I don't have the proper equipment to take a good photo of such a sight, and even if I did I doubt it'd do the actual sight justice. However, tonight I decided to get out my cell phone and snap a couple of photos of it just because.  I thought they looked kinda' neat and decided to share them here. If you'd like, you cana lso click on the photos to view them larger.

Everyone can be a Star

This is affixed to the side of my rather large monitor at work.  :)  It's a somewhat sparkly sticker I got from one of those coin sticker machines; I've always kinda' liked those and the mystery of which sticker you might get. Anyway ... I didn't want to waste the sticker, so I took a piece of tape, stuck it to the white backing of the sticker, and stuck it on my monitor.  It's a little spot of sunshine I can see each day while I'm working the day away.

Header

In welcoming you to my newest blog focused on photos I snap, here's the photo that was used to make the header:

Today

One of my longtime buddies suggested I start a photo blog of random photos I take sporadically. So, here I am. :)

This is a pin a woman found at the end of her driveway and brought to our office. She told me she's sure whoever lost it would be looking for it and really want it back, so she asked me to put a small ad in the paper so the owner could claim it. No photo for the ad in the paper, but I took one "just because" -- why not?  :)
